This story just continues to grow and has gotten even worse. My story started earlier in the week talking about a juvenile justice program named Brookhaven Youth Ranch in West, TX. and a very serious accusation of adult staff members taunting the male youth residents to have physical altercations off camera so staff could watch and not intervene. It grew from there to other verbal and physical assault by staff on the adolescent. The first incident just happened Saturday May 3. there was another episode Monday May 5th and has been yet another yesterday May 8th where a kid was BODY SLAMMED and punched for attempting to dial 911 to get the abuse to stop. I have called CPS three times this week. I have pulled their CPS history and in the last 2 years they have had over 90 claims made against them almost 30 of which were substantiated. some were for infractions such as staff / resident ratio but at least half of those found factual were involving physical abuse! I have called the West PD who say they have no jurisdiction. I have called the McLennan County Sherriff's Dept. who say they have to be asked in my the ranch Admin office. I have called the Texas Rangers who say they have to be invited by the Texas Youth Commission. I have called the TYC who say they are a contracted facility and have no jurisdiction???? WHO CAN I CALL????? PLEASE HELP ME!!!! These boys are easy targets and sitting ducks to the predators! The residents there are all court appointed or CPS custody kids from 10 to 17. PLEASE HELP THEM HAVE A VOICE!!!!!
